I love introductions and learning others’ stories. I wish we could meet in person, become friends, and pray for one another. Maybe we can get to know each other here. Comment on posts or send me a note through my contact page.

Here’s a little bit about me. I am a stay-and-work-at-home mom of one teenage and three young adult kids — one of whom is now married. I’m also a Lovey to our first grandchild. My husband James and I are over-the-moon obsessed. We live in the Houston area, where we run our family-owned and operated custom home-building business. Our clan is loud and crazy. We love intensely, fight loudly, and forgive quickly. It gets messy, but it’s worth it.

My days consists of early morning hours tucked away in a comfy chair alone with the Lord and without distraction. Well, that’s if you don’t count my fur babies JJ and Gucci. I LOVE to write about God’s word, His truth and its absolute relevance and power in our lives. It’s a message that burns like fire in my bones and pours with passion from my tongue when God opens doors for me to teach in churches, at retreats. As a couple, James and I also lead a newly and nearly wed life group on Sundays at our church.

Loved for her transparent, profound approach to scripture’s life-giving truths, Shauna writes, teaches, and speaks with vulnerable dependency on God’s transforming grace and power to draw others into the fullness of freedom and hope in Christ.

In this little corner of cyberspace, I long for us to encounter His grace, draw nearer to Him, love Him more, believe Him bigger, and live freer. My prayer for us is Romans 15:13, that God our Father would fill each one of us with joy and peace, that we might abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. I know it’s possible, because I’ve seen Him deliver me from bulimia, alcoholism, and a whole slew of bad decisions, save my marriage, blend my family, and miraculously alter our circumstances. I am living proof of His supernatural power to rescue and redeem the hopeless, so I believe Him and everything He says. He is real, and His word is relevant for love, loss, grief, tragedy, illness, healing, suffering, marriage, parenting, relationships, aging parents, work, finances, friendship, doubt, growth, surrender, trust, faith, hope, belief, the past, present, and future. May the Lord seize our whole hearts as His word transforms our thinking and ways and we pursue a more surrendered, intimate relationship with Him. In the end, I want you to know Him more, not me. I want you to follow Him, not me.
